Here’s the thing, I’ll ask a band I interview who they listen to that I might not know about and then in the chaos of meeting a deadline, I forget to actually take the rec. Oh journalism, you are a cruel, cruel mistress.
Thanks to Twitter, which is a weird statement to put out there, I have already gotten a good amount of return from musicians I follow, recommending musicians they love…hence the way I met this BK foursome, Spanish Prisoners, via Freelance Whales.
They’ve got plenty of music to listen via the Face, but once I discovered their cover of Still Ill by The Smiths, I was like duh, this.
Worst part? You have to wait for their self release album, Gold Fools, til this Fall, and then maybe they’ll come to a town near you…ooooole.
